About The Author

I’m Smriti (Mia) Mehta, a 16-year-old high school student passionate about nutrition and healthy living. At BiteBalanced, I strive to simplify the science behind healthy eating for teenagers, making complex nutritional concepts accessible and engaging.

Growing up, I witnessed the impact of poor nutrition on my family through type 2 diabetes and on myself through constant energy crashes and persistent acne. This drove me to explore nutrition and health, eventually sparking a passion for it. Through BiteBalanced, I provide science-backed nutritional advice, practical tips, and delicious recipes to help teens make informed food choices.

In addition to running BiteBalanced, I’ve authored a book titled “Ella Eats: Discovering Healthy Choices,” which focuses on teaching children abut the importance of proper nutrition. I also host a podcast called “Food and Mood,” where I discuss the role that food plays on cognitive functions.
